Addiction is not a disease. Addiction is a sin. It is from within. In fact, everything is from within. We are complex human beings driven to find out all the workings of life. We are driven to find out what will hurt us and what will not. We are given brains to find this out. Unfortunately, only a few dare use their brains. However, there are kids who learn of that wonderful gift without promptings from their parents, and they use their brains successfully.

A brief history of how it all began, from the Bible, will tell the story. There is an epic battle that has been going on in heaven between the forces of God, led by Michael, and the forces of evil spirits, led by Lucifer. Scripture tells us that a long time ago Lucifer convinced a third of the angels to follow him in rebellion against God. People believe this is just a legend, so they don’t think it to be true. But that is the workings of Lucifer. So long as people do not believe it to be true, the better and easier it will be for him to conquer all the people. In brief, that is the ultimate goal of Lucifer. Because of this rebellion, Lucifer’s name was changed to Satan, meaning adversary. His followers, the fallen angels, became known as demons or devils. So, Satan and his minions became known as the sons of darkness. Michael and his angels are loyal to God, and they became known as the sons of light. The battle between Michael and Satan continues to this day. We do not see it because it is in heaven, but the effect of the battle will be felt here on earth.

Many do not know Lucifer. This is by design. Lucifer and his minions have convinced the world that there is no God and that man is the ruler of the world. The only country that does not subscribe to this nonsense is the United States. From the beginning of our existence as a nation, we declared our belief in God. It is not by coincidence that today, President Donald J. Trump, vowed to stop the trafficking of heroin. He will build a wall to separate the addicts from the dealers. But the enemies of Trump — the Democrats, also known as progressives — are against building a wall. Instead, they want to build bridges to welcome the illegal immigrants to the United States. They want a borderless America. A borderless America means we have no country.

Heroin is the ultimate badge of honor for Lucifer. The kids do not know that it is addictive, so they will try it. The pusher of dope will give some more until the kids are hooked. Then a string of petty crimes follows by the kids who have to support their habits. The heroin, now in the kid’s system, becomes even stronger, and the kid asks for a more powerful dose. Death follows — this is a victory for Lucifer. Death is his reward.

Lucifer is often comically portrayed as a guy in a red devil suit. He probably likes it this way, since most people (including Christians) are apt to disbelieve in his existence. As a “non-existent” force in people’s lives, Lucifer is free to influence them without being discovered as the cause of many of their problems. However, the Bible says that Lucifer is a beautiful and powerful fallen angel, who would like to do nothing more than take away the joy of Christians through deception, and lead people into rebellion against God. Although Lucifer is destined for the Lake of Fire, biblical prophecy indicates that he will deceive entire nations and kingdoms before he is relegated to eternal damnation, along with the other fallen angels he led into rebellion against God.

Lucifer has deceived the whole world, and much of the world doesn’t even know he exists. Where are the churches to help us fight Lucifer? It is time that they introduce us to our adversary. We can beat Lucifer. In the Bible, we are told to be in self-control and alert, for the devil prowls around looking for someone to devour and profit by. Because we are children of God, we can overcome Lucifer, for God is in us. How? By our words, by positive words. This is 2017, and our positive words are weapons we can use against the devil. God made it so easy for us to defeat the enemy — because God is in us. God is within.

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. -Ephesians 6:11-12, NKJV

This scripture is not meant for the clergies only; it is meant for all of us. “Resist the devil and he will flee from you“(James 4:7), says the Bible. Don’t take the first step, which is experimenting with the dope. The first step leads to addiction.

The world is simple-there is God, and there is Lucifer. God is good, and Lucifer is evil. Good is represented by everything that will make life move forward. Evil is represented by everything that will curtail life. In the Bible, we are told of the story of Abraham’s nephew, Lot, and his family.

Lot, Abraham’s nephew, lived in Sodom with his family. His daughters were engaged to local men. Lot was sitting at the gate of Sodom, the area where financial and judicial transactions took place, when two angels came into town. Lot invited them to stay with his family. After a rather exciting evening, the angels made sure Lot, his wife, and his two daughters left before God destroyed the city (Genesis 19:13). As they fled, the angels warned them, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you, and do not stay anywhere in the valley; escape to the mountains, or you will be swept away (Genesis 19:17).

Lot ran, his daughters close behind. But his wife, from behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt” (Genesis 19:26). She lagged behind. She turned and watched the flaming sulfur fall from the sky, consuming everything she valued. Then it consumed her. The Hebrew for “looked back” means more than to glance over one’s shoulder. It means “to regard, to consider, to pay attention to.” The Scriptures don’t say whether her death was a punishment for valuing her old life so much that she hesitated in obeying, or if it was a simple consequence of her reluctance to leave her life quickly. Either she identified too much with the city-and joined it-or she neglected to fully obey God’s warning, and she died.

This is a very simple story, but we all have misunderstood it because we are looking for a deeper meaning. Sorry, folks, but this is as straightforward as it can get. God is telling us to look forward and not backward. Why? Because if we want to reach God, we have to look forward. Lucifer means the opposite: you will have to look backward. It is as simple as that. God is forward-looking; Lucifer is backward-looking. To look forward is to be with God.

President Trump knew this-that is why he is always looking forward. And that is how he built his empire. He is always with God-he is always looking forward. No matter how much Megyn Kelly (Fox News anchor) tried to bring him back to say he’s sorry, he did not. Trump is always looking forward. And he is always counterpunching, that is, he answers back. The President is teaching millions of people who support him that to follow God we must look forward. To follow God, we must make America great again. Today, there are millions of Americans affirming that they want to make America great again. Affirmation works. We are now seeing the works of God.

Yes, the church is complicit in this. We had never been taught that to fight drugs means to fight Lucifer. We had been taught to ignore Lucifer, so we go along our merry way, smoking weed or any of the hard drugs. All we know of Lucifer is that he has a tail, horns, and bad teeth. That is nonsense. He is a spirit, much like God. Perhaps the church is afraid of Lucifer because we talked about him only during Easter when we profess to reject him. And then all throughout the year we ignore him. The kids keep on smoking marijuana and doing hard drugs, not knowing that Lucifer is waiting for them until they die.

Lucifer is our adversary, but we go on through life as though he does not even exist. I cannot disagree more. We are children of God, and God is in us. But Lucifer beguiles us with all sorts of wonders until we fall. Remember how he tried to tempt Jesus?

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'”

Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: ‘He will command His angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'” Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'”

Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'”

Then the devil left Him, and angels came and attended him.

-Matthew 4:1-11

In the first two paragraphs, Jesus told Lucifer what was written in the scriptures. Satan didn’t leave. But in the third paragraph, Jesus told him to go away from him – Lucifer left — and the angels came and attended to Jesus. The devil will go away if you tell him. The devil will not tempt you unless you give him permission. That permission is accepting the dope. Why? Because our words are so powerful that the devil will have to leave.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1

Again, this is a simple story, but we lost it because we are looking for a deeper meaning. All the kingdoms of the world and their splendor is akin to the effect of heroin on our children. Parents, you must keep your child knowledgeable of Lucifer. He cannot touch us if we abide with the Lord. And to the churches, your congregation should be well-informed of Lucifer and his wiles.

Again, we fail because we do not know how to read the Bible. We are looking for a deeper meaning when all along the answer is staring at us.

Here are some of what our kids are addicted to:

You say that marijuana is harmless, but it leads to heavy drug addiction, and before you know it, you’re addicted. The liberals knew the effect of marijuana, so they pushed for this to be legalized, and they are winning. But if we teach our kids that Lucifer wants them dead and marijuana will lead them to death, we will never see this being peddled again. We are much stronger than Lucifer, and this, we will overcome.

Heroin, Cocaine, and Other Addictions

One of the biggest stigmas of Hollywood is that so many people who seem to have everything they want are struggling with substance abuse. Why? Lucifer. Within the history of Hollywood, some of the greatest talents to live are now remembered for their untimely deaths. We could have saved Michael Jackson, Prince, Janis Joplin, Heath Ledger, Amy Wine house, Whitney Houston, Jimi Hendrix, John Belushi, Elvis Presley, Kurt Cobain, Andy Gibb, and countless others.Lucifer shows these people the bright neonlight of Las Vegas; but he doesn’t show them the morgues, emergency rooms, and prisons. Rock music has always been the devil’s music.

Lucifer is very patient. Although it takes almost thirty-plus years before you die from smoking, he is still waiting for you, because there is no element of time for spirit. I know how hard it is to quit smoking, I was a smoker once, but I tried to quit it once, tried it again the second time, and again the third time and finally succeeded. It is worth trying, for emphysema or lung cancer is waiting for you.

Yes, caffeine is addictive as well as tea and colas. Many people do not know this. This is how your brain becomes addicted to caffeine, from Smithsonian Magazine:

Soon after you drink (or eat) something containing caffeine, it’s absorbed through the small intestine and dissolved into the bloodstream. Because the chemical is both water- and fat-soluble (meaning that it can dissolve in water-based solutions-think blood-as well as fat-based substances, such as our cell membranes), it’s able to penetrate the blood-brain barrier and enter the brain.

Structurally, caffeine closely resembles a molecule that’s naturally present in our brain, called adenosine (which is a byproduct of many cellular processes, including cellular respiration)-so much so, in fact, that caffeine can fit neatly into our brain cells’ receptors for adenosine, effectively blocking them off. Normally, the adenosine produced over time locks into these receptors and produces a feeling of tiredness.

When caffeine molecules are blocking those receptors, they prevent this from occurring, thereby generating a sense of alertness and energy for a few hours. Additionally, some of the brain’s own natural stimulants (such as dopamine) work more effectively when the adenosine receptors are blocked, and all the surplus adenosine floating around in the brain cues the adrenal glands to secrete adrenaline, another stimulant.

For this reason, caffeine isn’t technically a stimulant on its own, says Stephen R. Braun, the author or Buzzed: The Science and Lore of Caffeine and Alcohol, but a stimulant enabler: a substance that lets our natural stimulants run wild. Ingesting caffeine, he writes, is akin to “putting a block of wood under one of the brain’s primary brake pedals.” This block stays in place for anywhere from four to six hours, depending on the person’s age, size and other factors, until the caffeine is eventually metabolized by the body.

In people who take advantage of this process on a daily basis (i.e., coffee/tea, soda or energy drink addicts), the brain’s chemistry and physical characteristics actually change over time as a result. The most notable change is that brain cells grow more adenosine receptors, which is the brain’s attempt to maintain equilibrium in the face of a constant onslaught of caffeine, with its adenosine receptors so regularly plugged (studies indicate that the brain also responds by decreasing the number of receptors for norepinephrine, a stimulant). This explains why regular coffee drinkers build up a tolerance over time because you have more adenosine receptors, it takes more caffeine to block a significant proportion of them and achieve the desired effect.

What are the effects of caffeine addiction? Arthritis, twenty years from now.

We are poor because we want to be poor. Very little is required to adequately support your family. There are jobs to be had, but you will have to look for it. It is much easier to just ask for a government dole. If you are poor, Lucifer is with you, and he will be waiting for you or your kids to grow up and be rascals. The cause of poverty? Inertia. You heard of that man who walked ten miles, rain or snow, to get to his job? He is so poor he can’t afford to buy a car. Well, the community heard of his plight and gave him a car.

Racism is a sin. If you are black and a racist, or a Latino and racist, you are angry at whites for being white. Some black and Latino youths pick up drugs to sell, and some use as well, for it is easy money. They also begin to pick up guns as well. They do not know that their troubles are just beginning.

The Democrats blame the police for mass incarceration. It is the selling of drugs that caused mass incarceration. If the black youths and Latinos give up selling drugs and look for jobs, the world will be a safe place to live. As it is, they have to kill each other for territory. Violence begets violence. The Bible says those who live by the sword die by the sword. Your death isa victory for Lucifer.

As a kid, it is cool to be drinking. As an adult, you mingle with coworkers for a Friday nightout. But before you know it, you are addicted, because alcohol abuse can sneak up on you. Alcoholism wrecks up your life. Another victory for Lucifer.

In summary, addiction is not a disease. It is a sin. The church does not know this but as soon as they begin to treat addiction as a sin, we will begin the healing of our nation.
